Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Operations Manager to oversee the setup and day-to-day operations of our new food manufacturing facility in Johor, Malaysia. The Operations Manager will play a critical role in managing the overall production process, ensuring efficient use of resources, maintaining high-quality standards, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This role will involve strategic planning, leadership, and hands-on managementto drive operational excellence in our new facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the overall operations of the factory, including production, quality control, logistics, and maintenance.
- Develop and implement operational strategies, processes, and systems to optimize production efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure adherence to all food safety, health, halal and regulatory compliance standards (e.g., HACCP, GMP, ISO, Halal certifications).
- Manage the setup and commissioning of the new factory, including coordination with suppliers, contractors, and government authorities.
- Oversee resource allocation and manage labour, materials, and equipment to ensure timely production and delivery.
- Lead and motivate a diverse team, providing training and development to ensure high performance.
- Collaborate closely with the Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, and Japan teams to align production goals with overall business objectives.
- Manage the budget for the operations department and ensure cost control measures are in place.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and product quality.
- Handle troubleshooting and problem-solving for any operational challenges that arise.
Qualifications
Requirement
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Food Science, or relevant field.
- Strong knowledge of food manufacturing processes, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Proficiency in production management software, ERP systems, and MS Office tools.
Work Experience:
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in operations management, preferably within the food manufacturing industry.
- Proven track record of managing a team and complex operations in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in setting up and commissioning a new manufacturing facility is highly preferred.
Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other operational improvement methodologies is a plus.English Level
