    Summary of the Position:
    The Area Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales opportunities within an assigned region, managing a sales team, and collaborating with technical experts to deliver customized machining solutions to customers. Strong technical knowledge of cutting tools and applications, alongside proven leadership and sales experience, are essential for success in this role.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
    • Responsible to drive the sales opportunities in the assigned area sales portfolio.
    • Manage sales team activities, ie. Weekly call planning, appointments, and follow ups to arrive at the desired outcome of the sales operating plan.
    • To utilize CRM knowledge and know how, to optimize sales activities and the generate the sales pipeline aligned to the area sales portfolio targets.
    • Partner with application engineer to promote solution selling rather than product push selling, across targeted end user accounts in assigned area.
    • Feedback market intelligence in a scheduled manner cohesively across various functions to foster engagement.
    • Review current state and engage the team members for close gap actions to plan. Foster teamwork to drive results.
    • Coaching of team members on the sales approach to arrive at the uniformity of the sales process.
    • Scheduled reporting as required.

Qualifications

  • Requirement

    Education & Experience:
    • Candidate must possess at least Professional Certificate, Diploma/Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical), Engineering (Mechatronic/Electromechanical), Engineering (Metal Fabrication/Tool & Die/Welding), Engineering (Others) or equivalent.
    • At least 8-10 Year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
    • Preferably managers specialized in Sales - Engineering/Technical or equivalent.
    • Candidates with knowledge and exposure to metal cutting industries with direct user are encouraged to apply.

    Skills and competencies:
    • Possess extensive knowledge of B2B sales and solution-based selling, especially in technical or engineering fields.
    • Knowledge of cutting tools and their application, particularly in the metal cutting and machining industries.
    • Strong CRM knowledge to optimize sales processes, track progress, and manage pipelines.
    • Competency in setting and achieving team sales targets, as well as strategic sales planning.
    • Proven ability to establish strong networks, in various industry such as mold & die, aerospace, automotive, semicon, energy, medical, etc.
    • Problem-solving skills to address technical and operational challenges in sales execution.
    • Proven experience in leading and coaching a sales team, fostering teamwork and collaboration to achieve goals.
    • Ability to mentor team members on sales approaches, ensuring uniformity and effectiveness in the sales process.
